I had never worn a jockstrap in my life, so I didn't really know what to expect or have any points of comparison. I bought these because I had a vasectomy scheduled, and many people recommended wearing some sort of athletic supporter to help with discomfort post surgery. I tried them on before the surgery, and they felt kind of gimmicky to me. The support isn't dramatically different from regular supportive briefs. After my surgery, I haven't stopped wearing these over my regular underwear. The truth is that you don't need an intense amount of support to provide targeted relief, and these provide just enough to avoid any accidental tugs of sensitive areas without feeling excessively constricting. I happen to be a delivery driver, and I'm honestly kind of shocked that I never thought to wear something like this before. When getting in and out of a vehicle hundreds of times per day, it's pretty much impossible to avoid the occasional weird sitting that causes discomfort or gets bits caught on various things. This really helps alleviate that, to the point that I'll probably continue wearing them for work after fully healing from surgery. Overall, I'm really happy with these. they're cheap, simple, and effective.
