Over the last few years, Open Educational Resources (OER) have emerged as one of the contemporary prominent knowledge-sharing platforms. New educational opportunities are arising in a digitally enhanced collaboration amongst learners. This collaboration could be a new platform for older socio-epistemic hierarchies and marginalisations or create an opportunity to bring down the barriers based on socio-economic dimensions of learners' accessibility to knowledge.OER represents the efforts of a worldwide community, empowered by the internet, to help equalize the access to knowledge and educational opportunities.
