more like a swamp cooler

you dont have to put water in it like a seamp cooler, but the water you have to drain from the machine sure is a pain. we had to drain a 5 gal water jug worth of water in 3 days. If you dont rig the machine to auto drain into something, then the machine just beeps and shuts down. It took us a couple of tries to figure that out. Not only thay the cooling function on this machine does not cool more than a mid size bedroom and that takes a good 15-20 to feel since the vents only aim to the higher points of the room vs towards you directly. Overall, we have decided to return the product for these reasons, and i wouldn't recommend this machine as an ac unit, especially for long-term use.
