Must read

The Boardwalk Bookshop is about Ashley, Bree, and Mikki and their dream of owning a beachfront business. Ashley is the baker of the group and has converted her portion of the building to selling muffins. Bree has used her portion to sell books and have signings with authors. Mikki has used her portion in a gift shop where she sells trinkets. Each had their eye set on this building but the cost was too high, so they came together and quickly became close friends/family. On Friday nights, the ladies get together on the beach and have champagne together at sunset. This story is full of laughter, heartache, and romance. Despite everything they are going through each of these friends is there to support and encourage each other. The honesty they have towards each other even when it hurts was something I truly appreciated in this book the most. Ashley, Bree, and Mikki's quest for love and success will keep you on the edge of your seats. I highly recommend reading this book!

A great beach read

A great beach read that will keep you entertained through all the drama, romance and champagne drinking! 3 women, Bree, Mikki and Ashley, who were once strangers, meet each other all vying for the same beach front store front. With all 3 showing up and discussing how expensive the rent is, they decide to combine the bookstore with the gift shop and muffin business into one and call it The Boardwalk Bookshop. Will they be able to pull off their joint venture? Each come with their own baggage, but with the parternship with their new store, they form a friendship! Will they be able to help each other through all their troubles? I love how Susan Mallery often writes books that focus women friendships and how they help and support one another! Loved the champagne guide and muffin recipe! Perfect for book clubs!

Good read

I really enjoy Susan Mallery's books, especially the stand alone ones like this one. This is the story of 3 women brought together by a business venture and how they became friends, then family. Mikki is divorced and manages to stay friends with her ex. It's not a problem until she meets someone new and has to re think her relationship with her ex. I liked Mikki's journey and knowing most ex's can not be civil to each other, forget about helping re decorate! Ashley has been dating/living with Seth for a while, when she discovers he does not believe in marriage. He has nothing against a long term relationship, house, kids, but no to marriage. Personally I thought Seth was a jerk. Ashley also had to work through what she really wanted and could she settle for less? Bree came across as the strongest, but she actually was the most damaged. Her "parents" are the reason some people should not have children. I liked Bree but wonder why it took so long for her to realize she needed help? I liked this book and liked the relationships between the women and the ones surrounding them. What I didn't like was how quickly the book ended. If ever there was a need for a follow up chapter , this was it! Thanks to the author for the advanced copy for my own opinion
