Great book by the real author!!
Great book. Happy to get the original book from 1972. The updated version, not written by Atkins, but by the company that bought out his estate, is awful. Get this version or the one with the blue cover(?). Just make sure it's actually authored by him and not a board of authors. He knew what he was doing.
The ORIGINAL
This is the original book. I had been using the Atkins app (the old and then the newer version) for over a year with minimal results. I am on the first week (induction) only day 5, according to the book, and even though we are travelling, eating out, and don't know the amount of weight I have lost, I am seeing huge physical results. The new clothes I bought to fit me after the minimal weight loss are falling off, and I see a huge difference in my face, neck & abdomen. Night and day comparison from the app/online version. I still use the app for tracking, but that will be all. From what the book says, the app/online/new atkins never gets your carbs low enough to change your metabolism over to fat burning. After reading the book, I "get" the concept of Atkins. I never did with the online & app versions, because, well, they are not true Atkins, plain and simple. Don't know they can get away with using his name with out using his plan. I'm a bit miffed that I wasted over a year going hungry on the new atkins 20, on phase 1 the whole time.
