General Grabber A/TX
OVERVIEW
The General Grabber ATX is an all terrain, all season tire manufactured for SUVs and light trucks. General offers a 60,000 mile treadwear warranty with the metric sizes and a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty with the light truck and flotation sizes of this tire model.
The tire offers first-rate all season traction. The model combines an excellent all season compound and a detailed symmetric tread design to increase the dry, wet and winter season road and terrain gripping ability. The compound keeps its flexibility throughout the year, including in colder temperatures, while the high siping detail and the staggered tread blocks of the tread design boost the performing capability year round. This allows the tire to safely perform on ice- and snow-covered surfaces, which earned it its three mountain peak and snowflake symbol. When driving on-road, the tread's optimal groove pattern manages to avoid hydroplaning by eliminating water and slush from below the tire's footprint. The increased all season traction and hydroplaning prevention guarantee a secure year round performing capability.
The model ensures an excellent all terrain performance. The tread design's flat footprint and optimized tread elements enable the tire's on- and off-road surface gripping ability. The tread features Traction Notches that improve the model's performing capability and promotes a safer soft, loose and uneven terrain gripping ability. The Traction Notches and the five-row pattern enhance the model's multi-angle grip, increasing its forward traction in deeper mud and loose dirt. The staggered tread blocks, open shoulders and optimal groove design maintain a clean footprint. They disperse mud and snow and eject rocks stuck between the tread elements. This keeps the tire's contact with the road and terrain surface and avoids stone retention from harming the tire's casing, resulting in an upgraded driving safety.
The tread design and reinforced internal structure increase the model's controllability. The tread's flat footprint maintains the tire's road and terrain surface contact, which enhances its steering responsiveness and driving stability. In this manner, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver's commands, while it stabilizes the structure against the driving pressure affecting the model during the drive. The model was manufactured with the special Duragen construction which places high-strength steel belts, two polyamide plies and the polyester casing in the structure that maintains the optimal tire shape under the driving and load pressure. As a result, the tire is capable of carrying and withstanding heavier loads with ease, providing a safer off-road performance.
Not all tire sizes are suitable for all vehicle types. Please refer to the item specifications for accurate information about vehicle type fitment for this particular size.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
