Golf Club 2: Day 1 Edition - Xbox One

Having finally gotten an Xbox one, I was looking for a golf game to take advantage of the graphical potential and horsepower that comes with having a current gaming system. My last golf game was the the EA sports TW franchise from years ago, which were really good. I did some homework and found out EA pretty much waived the white flag on golf games after trying to reboot with Rory McIlroy as the main figure a couple of years ago. So if you buy that you aren't getting any new courses or updates or a new version in the foreseeable future. So this is pretty much the winner by default. The knocks on this game are it is more of a simulator and not an arcade style game and because it doesn't have the licensing, it has generic players and doesn't use the names of some of the courses that you are used to. Augusta = Magnolia course for example. Having played a bit, it is a challenging game but not in a punishing way and honestly does play more like a real round of golf with the highs and lows and better realism. I like it and find it fun and I am a 48 old father of three that doesn't game it up for hours on end. A casual gamer who likes golf will find it a good time. It was $40 at my local Walmart, I asked them to price match their online price and they said no problem, so I consider it a great value at $30.

Great golf game, coming from the EA golf games this series is a lot harder to learn so far.
