The artwork was handcrafted by Atlanta's premiere designer/illustrator, Russell Shaw. Russell has collaborated on projects for Kid President, Catalyst Conference, David C Cook, Thrive Farmers Coffee, Plywood People and more, as well as winning recognition in numerous international design industry awards and publications. The story was developed by Matt Burgess, author of the innovative children's book called Skylar and George Washington. Brilliant! was born out of Matt's experience adopting his son and daughter from China. Brilliant! is designed to encourage all parents and excite all children, but the symbolism is particularly meaningful to adoptive and foster families. Families who have adopted or fostered will notice subtle nuances throughout the book that relate directly to their experience adopting or fostering.
