replacement for 86 sea ray 230 5.7

had my throttle shifter break parking my 86 sea ray weekender 230, had to scramble to shut off with the key... fortunately was able to get it docked, with that being said this was a direct universal replacement for the old one which was an older model of the same shifter. was simple to hook up, just be sure to pay attention to which cable is throttle and the number it is connected to on the plate, same for shifter cable, I took pics to be sure... if you are doing cable replacement connect the old cable and new cable at the shifter and pull the new one into position with the old one, some folks have used a threaded connector but you can also use tape or even zip ties to keep them together as you pull your new cable to the engine. on my omc 5.7 I had to adjust the float and position arm to get a smooth shift. everything is working great and the shifter is doing its job perfectly ?
