Good chairs, not so great cushions

Received 4 chairs in mid May 2024; it's now 11/8/24 %26 we really like the ‘chairs' - back height %26 arms are comfortable, plus they are sturdy. But the cushions feel like you're sitting on cardboard with foam sandwiched between. Never sat on a cushion like this before! We don't sink down to the bottom but the word “comfortable” isn't what comes to mind. They aren't SO bad that I replaced them right away, but probably next summer since we use the chairs a lot!
