I have a metal headboard already, and the reason that I purchased this item is because my mattress keeps slipping since I have no footboard, and the footboard could not be purchased separately from the headboard. I hope it works, but have not used it as of yet.

It looks exactly as the picture. It was not that easy to assemble but my friend did it. There is no box springs which is weird to me. I used the big cardboard box it came in and put is as a buffer between the mattress and the metal. Not for kids who like to jump on beds though. Definitely an adult bed.
