My kids love this thing. It holds up well. The kids have dropped it several times and it's managed to stay together and functional. The only thing is that in a small space it's annoying. The fluttering from the disk that creates the hologram effect is quite loud, not avoidable, and the creatures noises are annoying after awhile. These things do not bother the kids and they love everything about it. Just don't bring it in the car with you.
