I was fortunate to have lived in Belgium for 7 years, and loved being able to walk down a market street and buy freshly baked Sugar Waffles. The warm sweet bites on a cool crisp morning were among my favorite memories, but once I had returned to the states I was unable to find those beautiful morsels. Now thanks to these wonderful little sugar pearls I can make my own whenever the mood hits me. These packages of pearl sugar work perfectly. Just make sure to add them to your extra thick waffle batter just before you put the batter on your waffle iron or they will simply melt into the batter.
