It's a journey building but a fun one! :D
Day-project. I'm female, 39 years of age, for clarity. I anticipated a lot of hardship piecing this thing together and estimated at least 6 hours of building time. It took me about 10. Lol I did most of it by myself (I recruited my husband's help to layer on the hutch to the desk when all was said and done.) My husband offered to help but we have different organization styles and I didn't mind a delayed gratification. So in short, if I can do it, you can too. It's not hard assembling, at all, but I WOULD advise using an impact to make the process MUCH easier. Honestly, I enjoyed the process and I believe it took me as long as I did because I'm one person but as I said, it CAN be done with just one. The instructions are clearly defined though it is certainly a "trust the process," bit of evolution. I find the desk to be extremely sturdy and apart from my dining cabinet, it's my favorite piece in my kitchen. I actually bought this to hold my microwave and I have two wine chillers that go in place where a chair would slide in and an elevated kickstand for which the chillers rest to make it look more custom. I hold wine, glasses, and my husband's brandy in the glass portions and decorated the rest. All in all, I am VERY pleased with this product and I HIGHLY recommend. Shipping was expected to come a week to a week and a half after purchasing but instead, arrived within three days. I was able to have this item built and completed in decorating over the weekend. If you're considering purchasing, GO FOR IT! Nevermind the negative reviews... some of these details are installer error. Just ensure your hinges line evenly and you place all your parts clearly for better navigation and the rest is truly a breeze. I built my china cabinet also. I'm not a "builder woman" per se, but I work in IT and have done installation for a few years now and I have acquired plenty of patience that make projects like these, VERY gratifying. Just carve out a day for yourself to get it done and have fun with the progress you make along the way :)

A really nice piece once assembled. It took about 5.5 hours to put together the desk and 2 hours for the hutch. Instructions were long but easy to understand for the most part. Once complete, it is true to the description %26 picture. It is made with synthetic wood, not real wood. We did not realize when purchasing that the desk %26 hutch ship separately. Shipping was fast, less than 3 days. Overall, I am pleased.
