Pacifica Island Art uses an environmentally-friendly Unryu Japanese rice paper made by the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. Unryu, which translates to 'cloud dragon paper' in Japanese, features long strands of kozo fiber and is made from natural mulberry and hemp fibers using traditional Japanese Washi techniques - ABOUT THE ARTIST - Howard Malitte - Howard Malitte (1910-1979) Malitte, is now remembered chiefly as the designer of Wellington Cathedral's beautiful stained glass windows commemorating the Army, Navy and Merchant Navy. Malitte also designed several well known NZ tourism department posters in the 1950s.
