They will perfectly accent any kitchen, home, Tiki bar, pub, game room, office or garage. - ABOUT THE ARTIST - Earl Horter - Earl Horter (1881-1940) Printmaker Earl Horter, born in 1881 in Germantown, Pennsylvania, was known for his realistic etchings and aquatints of urban scenes, though he was also an illustrator and painter. As a teenager, he engraved stock certificates. He was essentially self-taught, though he did take an etching class when he moved to New York City in 1903 to work for an advertising agency. He was a member of the Society of Illustrators. Exhibition listings begin with the famous Pan-American Exposition of 1915 in San Francisco and continue up until his death at such places as Chicago, Philadelphia, New York and at the Corcoran Gallery biennials from 1935 to 1939. He is better known in the art world today for the exciting collection of modern art that he amassed during his lifetime. A large portion of it was dispersed during his lifetime to meet financial needs but was reassembled at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 1999.
