I've given these as gifts to multiple people. They are always well received. They give much better control than basic pot holders One thing that would improve them is if they came in various sizes. The ones that are sold in single packs do run a bit larger than the ones sold as a pair. If I'm buying them for someone with larger hands, I buy two of the single packs. Otherwise, I opt for the 2 packs
