Machined from 6061-T6511 aluminum for strength while being as light as possible. Available in all three standard LS pulley depths (short, mid, and long styles) Lightening holes to minimize overall weight while improving throttle response. Allows easy pulley changes if different LS front accessory drive depth needed. Pulleys designed for use with included Speedway Motors SFI-rated LS balancer. Pulley and Balancer Kit Easily Converts from One LS Accessory Drive Depth to Another The LS family of engines has no doubt become the mainstay of engine swaps in just about anything with wheels. The allure of cheap horsepower in a compact and easy to install package certainly helps us understand why, but as popular as the LS swap is, there are some things to look out for when performing said swap. One such thing is GM’s decision to use different accessory drive depths across the various platforms the LS engine family has been installed in. While the LS has a lot of commonalities to it (some of which are even shared by its older small block Chevy sibling), these differences in LS front accessory drive depth can become a headache for LS swap projects. There are three different LS front accessory drive depths for the various Gen 3 and Gen 4 small blocks found in the LS engine family. There is the short (Corvette), the mid (Camaro), and the long (truck) depth. Each version is used in a specific chassis application to allow the engine to clear the frame, suspension, cooling fan/radiator, and other components packed into the engine bay. If you’re not sure what accessory drive depth you are dealing with you can determine the original pulley depth via the application list below or see our how to measure your factory crankshaft pulley depth in our installation details section. Our new CNC machined aluminum pulleys work in conjunction with the included SFI rated LS engine balancer to allow simple conversion from one depth to another as needed for your engine swaps. Bolt-On Design Means Not Having to Remove Your Engine’s Balancer to Make Changes The factory LS engine balancer features a machined pulley mounted to the balancer hub. This requires complete removal of the balancer and a new balancer bolt every time the balancer is removed to change accessory drive depth. Our LS accessory drive crankshaft pulley kits work in conjunction with the included Speedway Motors’ SFI rated LS engine balancer by simply bolting on over the face of the balancer. Our SFI 18.1 balancer is 30 percent more efficient over 5,000 rpm and frees up more horsepower than the stock balancer. The balancer is CNC machined and features a rebuildable inertial ring. The hub provides a machined keyway slot for those looking to pin their balancer to their LS crankshaft (highly suggested in boosted applications). Once you have our balancer pressed into place on your LS’s crankshaft, simply bolt on your pulley. This allows quick and easy changes to your LS accessory drive depth once you've installed the included SFI rated balancer. If anything should change in your engine compartment it takes just the removal of the three pulley bolts to swap pulley depths. Perhaps you’re using the long (truck) accessory drive depth since your LS came from a Silverado, but now you need to go to the short (Corvette accessory drive) depth for additional cooling fan clearance or for routing of your turbo’s hot side crossover plumbing. Whatever the reason, simply swap pulleys, update your water pump and any LS accessory brackets to keep everything lined up and you’re good to go.
