Take the motor plug out. 2. Remove the two bolts and four nuts that secure the two brackets. 3. Take the running board out of the car. 4. Take out the plastic end guard. 5. Take out the screws on the motor end cover. Be cautious not to drop any shims. 6. Turn the armature until it stops at a halt. The wedged bolt is then visible. 7. Take the wedged bolt out. 8. Remove the aluminum wedged by banging on the rear. 9. Take note of the wedge's orientation during reassembly. Take note of the boards' placement as well. 10. While standing on the board, work the hinges back and forth and liberally apply penetrating lubricant to all moving parts until they move easily. 11. If step 10 helps the hinges operate better, your motor might be fine and you can reassemble your board and conduct another test. 12. Reassembling is just the previous process done backward. Make sure the running board is where it was at the beginning. If not, the boards can start operating backward, retracting instead of deploying, and deploying instead of retracting.
