Pacifica Island Art uses an environmentally-friendly Unryu Japanese rice paper made by the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. Unryu, which translates to 'cloud dragon paper' in Japanese, features long strands of kozo fiber and is made from natural mulberry and hemp fibers using traditional Japanese Washi techniques - ABOUT THE ARTIST - John Holmwood - JOHN HOLMWOOD 1910-1987 In the post-war era John Holmwood emerged as an important Regionalist and Neo-Romantic artist in the context of New Zealand visual arts, painting images of the New Zealand landscape and empathetic views of city life.  Holmwood attended the Wellington Technical College in the late 1920s and his work is held in the collection of the Auckland Art Gallery.
