The Duel is a beautiful, sleek door
[Employee of americanbathgroup] I work in the product development team for MAAX, and here are some tips for installing the door based on my experience installing them.
-The inside glass panel must be on the same side as the drain and shower head. Make sure to review the diagram and plan your install accordingly
-The double-sided tape on the threshold will hold the threshold in place throughout installation, but taping it in place will make it more secure during the rest of the installation
-Double-check you are installing the lower bumpers and wall jambs in the correct orientation for your installation. The left hand and right-hand configurations are both shown.
-It's much easier to install the wall jambs with two people, to make sure they are level and in the right spot
-When installing the header supports, make sure you have the orientation correct. Check the pages before and after this step to make sure you understand the rest of the installation process and it matches your configuration
-Make sure to install the rollers and the header support caps in the right orientation before putting the header into the support
-Level the header by adjusting the bottom set screws only, then tighten the top set screws to fix it in place when you're done
-When installing the self tapping screw on the header, either use a hand screw or go slowly with the electric drill to avoid stripping the screw. Make sure you're in a good position to push down on the screw as well.
-The threshold guide can be taped in place while you wait for the silicone to dry
-When installing the wall jamb gasket, make sure to push firmly to get the gasket fully in place
-Fasten the top bumpers by hand. The bumpers are soft and can be deformed if screwed too tight. The double-sided tape will hold it in place as well
-It's strongly recommended to have two people to place the glass panels onto the rollers. Make sure to install the inside panel first
-Level the glass panels using the nuts on the roller before putting on the screw covers
-Follow the silicone instructions and let dry for 24 hours before using the shower
