The term "Palladian" comes from Andrea Palladio, a Renaissance architect whose work inspired some of the greatest buildings in Europe and the United States, most notably in the buildings designed by Thomas Jefferson, including his own home, Monticello. The classic Palladian shape is a central semicircular arch flanked on each side by strong rectuagular pillasters. Displayed with our cyrstal Georgetown Knob.
