Research Amber Mica before purchasing

I purchased this light and feel cheated. First off, the VAST majority of this light is like a plastic. The bronze portion of the shade is made from a fiberglass type material that looks cheap up close and feels like plastic. It's called Mica and is not the same thing as glass...unless you consider fiberglass...glass. The only stained ""glass"" on this light is the tiny strip along the bottom of the shade and tinier still, strip at the top. Engineering wise...Stevie Wonder could have designed this better although the quality of the rest of the materials seems pretty good. Get this...both chains that hold up the light go to a single plate affixed to the ceiling, this is what attaches to the ceilings electrical box. Tell me how you're going to wire this light while holding it from each end at the correct height above your table? You don't...you get two buddies to help, that's right...3 people to install this. I cheated...I cut the wire mid chain, attached the upper portion of the wire under the ceiling plate and installed the plate, hung the light, snipped the lower part of the wire to attach to the cut upper and electrical taped it to the chain. The plate on the ceiling has holes the wiring is supposed to go through for wiring it into the ceiling. Except the holes where the wire is supposed to go through are too small so you have to split the wire running up the chain into two single wires and run one up each hole...this gives a lovely impression of unfinished work by having a ""hanging wire"" up at the ceiling plate.
