Great laptop for the money

Everything worked from the get-go, no problems with anything so far. The latest drivers were also installed from factory, so no need to worry about that. There was a significant speed improvement when I installed the latest Bios that they have on their Support web page. What a difference the right Bios makes.....

It was a gift & they loved it!

Firstly, I paid ONLY $300 for this machine after tax. I would NOT recommend it at the list price. With that being said her are the pluses PROS 1. The price was $280 plus tax. 2. It has a decent processor. Intel i3 will fit most basic school needs. 3. Ram is expandable 4. It has all the ports expected of a modern laptop like 3.0 usb × 2, hdmi, ethernet, sd card reader. This is a bonus considering laptops are getting thinner & thus are sacrificing ports in order to get them as thin as possible. CONS 1. Only 4 gb of preinstalled ram. Ram is upgradable to 12gb I believe. 2. The body of the laptop feels like cheap plastic. If the laptop will be taken on the go, it may not hold up in the long run. In my experience, laptops that feel this cheap will be in for broken hinges. 3. The ports are oddly placed. The hdmi, ethernet & 1 usb port are in the back of the laptop. I have never seen this on any other machine from Dell to Hp to Lenovo. It isn't an issue; I just find it weird. If you catch a good sale like I did, it is totally worth it. I wouldn't pay more than $350 for it.

Acer Aspire ES1 Laptop

I really like the Acer Aspire ES1 Laptop. Bought it to replace an Asus laptop that I'd had for several years. Have only had the Acer for about 3.5 weeks, so as all laptops are it takes a bit of getting used to. Like this Acer better than Asus because the keys on the board seem much more raised than on the Asus. That's important to a touch-typist like me. Also, I like that the power port is is the back instead of on the side. My Asus power cord was on the side of the computer, so I'd always have to drag it under or around the back of my laptop to reach the outlet depending on where I sat. It's a great computer for the cost and so far I glad I purchased it.
