I use to have a small hand held steamer and after one garment I will have to refill the water compartment to steam another piece. When I bought this one it was so much better. I recently purchased it to steam clothes, but was able to steam my backdrop for family photos. I would recommend this steamer if you're looking to steam larger items and clothing.
