You are getting exactly what you pay for. Nothing more or less. It has small rollers on the bottom that does help with sliding around , on carpet, when you have a plate on it. I bought it as a TV tray that I could also slide to the side as an end table in a gameroom. It works perfectly, But it is not going to wow/blow you away. My expectations might be a little higher but at the same time if it serves its purpose and does exactly what you want to do what more do you need!!
