Handy and tidy.

I wasn't too sure about these when they arrived, They are light and feel a little flimsy, but they do work and they will 'set' to different lengths with a subtle tug or fully retract with a longer subtle tug. They work fine plugged into a rapid charger and charge just as quickly as a regular USB cable and they are very tidy; no more USB cable dangling/tangling or catching on things. On the down side, the design feels a little bit delicate so rough handling will probably destroy them in no time. And, the cable is short. A longer cable would more handy, but these are fine for plugging into a car console charger or outlet charger that's behind a side table or nightstand where the phone or tablet would be left to charge.
