Faber-Castell Soft Pastel Half Sticks (1.5”), 24 Vivid Colors

These soft pastels are great for beginners. I love how easy it is to blend and add depth to my art. They are very pigmented and perfect for kids to use too. These are short pastels so it's good for smaller pieces. The are very smooth to glide on. I find this set great for gifting beginners.

I am by no means a professional artist. I mostly love to do sketches and drawings on the spur of the moment. Wherever I have spare time with art supplies near by;for example in a waiting room with a pen and a napkin. I produce nothing wall quality much less gallery quality. I mostly just do it for myself or to make someone else smile just for a moment. So the fact that this set is small and fits anywhere is a HUGE plus for me. It can fit in a purse or backpack easily. Then it will be there whenever I have the moment to enjoy my creativity. On top of its mobility this set is very high-quality. It has a very smooth liquid feel to the pastels. They are soft enough to place rich color on the paper without being crumbly like some I have had in the past. Also they blend super easily. I have tried them on a variety of paper types from regular printer and notebook paper to high-quality watercolor paper and have always been pleased with the results. I would recommend this set to anyone from the art dabbler to the expert who is looking for a small set to travel anywhere with them.
