The ruffle along the edge makes it perfect to use as a bedspread. This blanket is knitted, and it is obvious both by the look and feel, that it is very high quality, and nicely made. I absolutely love how soft it is, and I am very picky about the way bedding feels. It is thick enough to be cozy to wrap-up in, but also appears to be a perfect weight to use it as a light blanket/ bed cover during summer months when it is too hot for thick comforters.
