I use these instead of buying a pound of hamburger meat and it going to waste for dishes that just require for one person I can make spaghetti noodles with a patty and sauce all ground up and everything and it be for just one person it's a cool tool to use when you're thrifty

Tasty Affordable Burgers

I had a taste for burgers and money was tight. I read the reviews on the Extra Value Quarter Pound Beef Patties and decided to try them. They were tasty and I was quite impressed. The burgers did not shrink much; fit the burger bun perfectly. Would buy again and recommend.

Tastes like poverty!

I wanted some burgers, and was a little irked that the Great Value patties cost more than a dollar each. Then I saw these "Extra Value" patties for 50 cents each, and I was sold. The patties are well packaged, well-formed, and cheap. They cook evenly, and I didn't find them excessively greasy. I realized when buying them that they would be cut with TVP (soy filler) and I'm generally OK with that. I grew up eating stuff like this. That said, these burgers are absolutely packed with filler. They don't taste like beef at all. They don't look or smell like beef (somehow, they're tan). If cooked according to the package instructions, they'll literally be crispy. When was the last time you saw a burger advertised as "crispy?" Some of the reviewers here have called these "inedible," and "not food." I won't go that far. I cooked up a couple of these to share with my dog, and was shocked at how little beef they contained, but we ate them. If you put enough sauce/condiments on them, they're fine. I won't buy them again (I'll probably throw the remaining 18 away in a few months when I get tired of looking at them) and I definitely wouldn't serve these at a cookout, but if you need to feed 20 people cheap, you can do it with these. Just don't expect Red Robin quality. Or even McDonald's.
