The Scope Stik 120 Phantom Purple has proven to be my go-to lure when pursuing the BIG (NMR) Speckled Trout that lounge along the rocks of the MRGO here in Louisiana. The color pattern on this lure presents a perfect image of a mullet feeding along the rocks. Anyone who has spent time on the water around the MRGO rock banks knows that mullet are constantly working those edges. When the Speckled Trout see that flash of purple and silver darting through the water column, it looks exactly like an injured baitfish trying to escape, and that's when the ambush happens. One of the major advantages of the Scope Stik 120 is its ability to dive into the 7–10 foot water column. That depth range is critical because many of the bigger Specks—the NMR class fish—tend to suspend off the rocks rather than chase bait on the surface. By getting the lure down into that strike zone and working it along the rocks, you're placing the bait right in the living room of those trout. When tight-lined along the rocks, the lure produces a deadly combination of darting, diving, and rattling action.
