Barbie Signature 65th Anniversary Collectible Doll with Blonde Hair and Black and White Gown

I am so thrilled I was able to catch a super sale on this 65th Anniversary doll. This doll is one of my girls favorite, they tend to love the unique hair (this with twisted braids) and Ariel with her braids. They are the only ones that I agreed to swop bodies on, for the more deluxe articulated bodies. Head swapping per MyFroggieStuff blogs. Simple process, yet can be challenging with potential to break the dolls neck. I just remove the head once the plastic is nice and soft from the hot boiling water, then slowly roll it apart. Sometimes I need the help of a sturdy, grip, long nose pliers. Once done the girls seems to not put the doll down, they tend to be their favorite dolls. The formal black and white gown is placed on another stationary doll. The doll also comes with beautiful shear black long (above the elbow) gloves with black bows on the top, silver with blue sapphire earrings, blue glass sunglasses, high heel sandals and a stand. So getting all that for $18.50 was a great price vs. the advertised market price. When I first received it, I thought Walmart had sent the wrong doll, due the Mattel's sturdy glued cardboard box with “BARBIE 65th BLUE SAPPHIRE ANNIVERSARY DOLL” printed on box. The pink paper label did not read any different. Sapphire? Really, just due to the 65th anniversary gem! There is a blonde Barbie doll version too. I do wish Mattel could give the actual name and description on the box. Since buy as presents months ahead and most of their deluxe dolls in the Mattel cardboard boxes are not easy to decipher, especially when a Ken doll is in a “Barbie doll” printed box! I always appreciate Walmart sending the Mattel box in a Walmart shipping box; so that the Mattel cardboard boxes stay's prestige for when giving as a gift to a collector.
