6' x 13' Gazebo replaced a cheap fabric top gazebo
Easy to put together with a little help from a friend. Be careful when putting up the posts; there are almost imperceptible pilot holes that need to be in the 'inside' for putting up the side shelves; I didn't realize this until a further step and had to undo a couple of steps to turn the posts around so the pilot holes were on the inside. Otherwise, putting together was almost completed in an afternoon and looks great over my existing grill and new griddle addition! I didn't install the back trim, thinking it might be easier for leaves and such to fall of the back of the roofing when it rains, but leaves still get caught on top.

Skeptical at first. Very pleased with end result
I have been eyeing the Backyard Discovery “Saxony” version of this for a few summers now. Sam's originally sold it for $799 but the 8x5 version is now $999/$1199 (depending on if there is a promo running) while the larger XL version took the $799 slot. Unfortunately I need the smaller unit so I decided to give this gazebo a shot. I was skeptical because the price seemed too good to be true and there were a few negative reviews/shipping horror stories. Overall I'm extremely pleased with it. The quality is good - there were a few dings in some of the wood pieces, but they were minimal and nothing that would be noticeable. It came in 3 boxes that shipped from 3 different warehouses, which was odd but all 3 arrived before the quoted delivery date. I would definitely recommend signing up for FedEx Delivery Manager. The vendor only included a tracking number for the first box so if I didn't have Delivery Manager I wouldn't have been able to keep an eye on the other two shipments. Assembly of the structure took about 2 hours, it really was pretty quick and painless with 2 people. The roof, which arrived a day later than the first two boxes took about 90 minutes to install, a good chunk of which was spent removing the vacuum sealed shrink wrap from the roof panels. That was the only frustrating part of the entire install. I mounted it to a patio using some Red Head concrete anchors. I stained enough of the top portion to install the roof and will finish up staining the rest of the structure in the next few days. For anyone unsure/uneasy about buying this, especially those who are interested in the Backyard Discovery version - I can't recommend this gazebo enough. Im super happy with it. I just don't see a $600 difference between this and the Saxony.
