Men's Altra Footwear Torin 4 Running Shoe

I'm a late bloomer, started running at 47. A couple months into getting hooked on running, I realized I was heel striking a lot which led to PF. A Navy Seal vet suggested these to help fix my mechanics. After about 20 miles I was totally hooked and about to retire these for a new pair at 300+ miles. The midfoot lockdown is unmatched; I can lock the foot down with less lace tension, especially because of the integrated neoprene tongue. The toe box is amazing too. The heel, which initially feels too roomy, felt fine because of the super solid midfoot securement. Now if only they made it in nuclear orange!!!

I have been using Altra shoes for years and have many of their shoes. This style has the perfect amount of support for my long runs and the arch support is fantastic. This is my fourth Torin shoe and while most have lasted 350+ miles, this Torin 4.0 only lasted short of 200 miles before the heel fell apart. My runs have not changed, so why only 200 miles? I wonder if the change in sole makes them last fewer miles? Keep Innovating & Keep Running!
