Much better than "traditional" go-to cookbook

I was looking for a cookbook for my new daughter-in-law. She is new to cooking so I wanted something that began at the beginning, ie: how to boil an egg, then transitioned into what I consider real cooking. This was it. It also shows the tools and cooking pots, pans, etc. a new cook might want to have in their kitchen. Very helpful for a new cook, but I don't want you to think the well seasoned cook is left out. It is a wonderful blending of information and recipes for all cooking levels. I not only bought a copy for her, but for myself also. The number of recipes is mind blowing! It is the type of book every cook should have in their kitchen, whether your a novice or pro, this is an excellent book. Very happy indeed. Recipes are clear and concise, along with helpful tips for most recipes. Examples of tips: how long meats, cheeses, eggs, etc. stay fresh. Freezing tips for dishes, reheating time and temps., substitution choices, etc. I also like the spiral notebook style as it lays flat when in use, and pages can be pulled out to make a copy of a recipe so pages don't get soiled, or I can add my own pages of recipes to the book after punching the 5 holes required to do so.

Love this book!

This cookbook is absolutely awesome. I would highly recommend it to everybody. The Wal-Mart site was the cheapest that I could find and it arrived very fast. I am very happy with my purchase.

Bought This As Gift, Wish I Could Keep It

I reviewed this cookbook when visiting my sister-in-law. It was a favorite of hers and she uses it a lot. So why didn't I purchase two when I had the chance?
