This fireplace is so cute but throws out a lot of heat the fake wood on top almost looks real from a distance because it's Birch colored wood that's the one I bought was the birch and I had a birch tree recently cut down so I have extra birch logs laying near in a basket so it looks like a real stack of birch wood I like the different functions and features it has highly recommend for the price you won't be disappointed
