Type A+B tubes have the ability to operate off of the compatible fluorescent ballast and can also operate off line voltage as long as the fluorescent ballast is bypassed. Wattage when used as Type A installation is 17W (tube + ballast) while wattage when used as Type B installation is 15W (tube only).
