One Baskey

I use this to help to illustrate the bible story of the loaves and the fish. I use it with 2nd graders at a little retreat I do with them every year. We use raffia to make the basket and also mix in dontated bits of yarn from church members. We then cut out 5 loaves and 2 fish from card stock. It is a perfect activity.

Beautiful, older child craft

We used these for VBS to emphasize the Moses story. It took several sessions and re-starts for many students. Patient students do the best. Using lots of raffia and forming the basket on the first few rounds helps as well. In the end we had many beautiful baskets and a few frustrated attempts.

Too challenging for nursing home residents

We made these for an activity at our nursing home. The residents had a really difficult time with them. We worked on them for over an hour and no one was able to finish one. They were also really hard to get the white cardboard base not to show through.
