The World in His Arms

Very good-quality Blu-ray! I have seen many Blu-ray restorations/remasters by Kino Lorber for older-era movies, and I have liked most of them for how they bring older movies "back to life" with overall nice picture quality and great filmic feel, for an often affordable price. "The World in His Arms" on Blu-ray is another such example. The movie itself is a fun romance-and-adventure story that fans of Gregory Peck, Ann Blyth, or Anthony Quinn will likely enjoy. However, watch out for a possible disc defect during playback that seems to originate from at least one (but not all!) manufactured batch of discs. I initially bought a copy from Amazon, and that copy would always freeze up and crash between the 1 hr 10m and 1 hr 15m mark of the movie. So I returned it and tried buying a different copy from Walmart instead, and it played perfectly! So I am happy with my Walmart copy. Walmart's packaging for shipping Blu-rays also seems to do a fine-enough job of keeping the plastic disc cases from getting damaged during transit the majority of the time (as long as the movies don't have paper/cardstock slipcovers). I am happy that Walmart is a business that still offers physical movie discs for purchase!
