A timeless and inspiring read

Marcus Aurelius' Meditations is full of practical wisdom that still applies today. This Penguin Classics edition is very readable, with a clear translation that makes the philosophy easy to follow. It's not a story but a collection of personal reflections, so it's great to read a little at a time. Perfect if you're interested in Stoicism, self-improvement, or just a thoughtful book to revisit again and again.

Cheap, Fast Stoicism Without Having To Watch A Pod

There really isn't a story, characters or a plot, but I had to rate them. This Penguin Classics edition arrived promptly, was priced affordably and looks sufficiently austere, matching what I assume are the contents and promises profound stoic insights from a long-dead emperor. Haven't cracked it open yet—life's trials are demanding enough—but the prospect of that $5 Walmart credit for this review has already brought me a measure of inner peace. Five stars for motivational capitalism.
