great for the bowels to work with

A consistently good functioning elimination system is elusive. It seems to adapt to whatever one tries. For fiber, mornings I take: 1/8 level cup Arrowhead Mills Organic Rye Flour from Swanson 2 level teaspoons Nutricology Dietary Cellulose Powder 6 of the 300 mg capsules of Swanson Apple Pectin A study found that rye bread speeds the transit time, so I take rye flour. The cellulose powder is good in that it doesn't seem to lose it's effect or wear off like psyllium, although a level tablespoon of Yerba Prima psyllium whole husks is good for occasional temporary one-day use. I soak the psyllium husks in my mouth with water for 5 minutes or so before washing them down with more water. The apple pectin is unique in it's effect to coagulate, thicken, congeal and jell everything, forming a definable ball out of everything. I try and drink two 12 oz glasses of Juicy Juice bottled fruit juice per day with meals or mainly with lunch. I also seem to need to eat enough during the day to provide the volume to keep everything moving. Soaked overnight, a large bowl of granola bars and a little quick oats with dried fruit like 5 or 6 prunes, raisins, dried apricots, dried pears, etc. is a good breakfast for providing bulk occasionally. This is a great price for any fiber at $6.09 for the 8.8 oz can.

great product

The purity of this product seems very high. The color is pristine white, and the flavor is lightly sweet, but nothing else. This or psyllium on their own never gave the results I was hoping for. Combining equal amounts of the two is a good combination though. I use 2 teaspoons of each in about 10 ounces of water, once per day. I stir in the celluose first, then the psyllium, and let the combination gel up a bit before drinking. Some psyllium powders clump a bit, but this can be remedied by only adding a little water first, and letting that gel up. Then you stir a bit to break up the clumps, add a little more water, stir quickly, add a little more water, stir quickly, etc.

good supplements

I found this dietary cellulose useful to add to my other fiber type supplements. With water, mornings, separately I take a level iced teaspoon of this Nutricology dietary cellulose. Next I take six 300 mg Swanson apple pectin capsules, then 1/8 level cup of whole rye flour, a 1/2 level measuring teaspoon of NOW guar gum powder, 1 1/2 tablespoons of honey and later an 8 oz glass of 100% fruit juice in the afternoon. For instance, I put the guar gum on tongue and take a sip of water and quickly swish the guar gum with the water until dissolved. Then swallow the dissolved guar gum with more water.
