Instead of using a standard external pipe wrench that can crush rusted galvanized pipes and nipples, use the ABN 4-Piece Internal Pipe Extractor Set. It includes 4 tools with 1-inch, 3/4-inch, 1/2-inch, and 3/8-inch sizes that fit inside pipes with a corresponding outside diameter. These pipe thread extractor tools eliminate the possibility of damage to threads, walls, and external nickel or chrome finish. For removal of broken pipe pieces, insert the circular tool end into the broken pipe and turn clockwise with a hex wrench (not included) to dislodge. The cam action provides a locking grip and can be turned in either direction. We recommend that these pipe wrench internal pipe fitting extractor tools are used on metal or plastic piping (not intended for PVC).
