The August Beauty Gardenia is a classic cultivar to bring glossy evergreen foliage to landscapes and heavenly floral aromas from late Spring into Summer. The August Beauty is an upright and dense shrub that blooms with elegant pure white fragrant blooms. The White blooms as they mature and dry out will take on lovely golden-yellow hues. These tough Gardenia shrubs are heat and humidity tolerant, and will rarely be bothered by deer. These beautiful Gardenia shrubs work well in many garden themes and are commonly used as accents, hedges, foundations, and specimen plantings. This Gardenia will thrive in USDA Zones 8-11 in Full Sun to partial shade and prefers acidic well-draining garden soil. Pruning is rarely required, but when necessary, we recommend trimming in late summer after the bloom cycles have finished.
