The MagTek USB HID 3-Track Mini Swipe Card Reader is acompactmagnetic stripe cardreader with a single read head that conforms to ISO standards. A cardis read by slidingit, stripe down and facing the LED side, through the slot eitherforward or backward. A built-in 6 foot USB cable allows for connectionand compatibility with any PC, computer, or terminal with a USBinterface, and also serves as the power source so no external powersupply is required. UnlikeHID keyboard emulation readers, this device does NOTusekeyboard emulation. It behaveslike a vendor-defined HID device so that a direct communication pathcan be established betweenthe Host application and the device without interference such askeystrokes from other HIDdevices.
