I've had other lightboxes but they all had an LED strip rather than a ring--and the difference is immediately apparent. This casts a soft even light, with neither noticeable shadows nor glare. It's the first time that I've had light that has permitted me to get dependable results out of a decent camera setup and has dramatically improved the quality of my pictures of the minis (usually around 28mm) that I paint.
