Instructions

Recommended Uses: Interior furniture, cabinets, doors, and paneling. Best when used on stained or bare wood surfaces. Not recommended for: Floors or exterior surfaces. Test Watco Clear Lacquer in an inconspicuous area before beginning. Testing is particularly important when applying over paints or stains as an undesired appearance may occur when these products are topcoated with a finish. Application Tips:Do not apply in direct silent or at temperatures below 55°F or above 90°F. If applying over white or pastel paints or stains, test in an inconspicuous area as yellowing may occur. Clean Up: Use lacquer thinner. Preparation: For best adhesion, surfaces must be clean, dry and free of wax, grease, oil, shellac, mildew, stearates and polishes. Remove wax with a wax stripper, shellac with a paint stripper, and mildew with a solution of 1% household bleach and tap water. old finishes in poor condition must be removed. Sand to obtain a smooth surface. Remove all sanding dust. Warning! Sanding or scraping old paint may create dangerous exposure to lead dust or fumes: for more information, call EPA Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD. If applying over stained surfaces, wait 72 hours or according to manufacturer's recommended dry time, whichever is greater, before applying finish. Directions1. Shake can vigorously for 2 minutes before use.2. Spray light coats 8?12 inches from surface to avoid runs and sags. Clean spray tip immediately after use by turning the can upside down and spraying until only clear gas comes out.3. Allow to dry 2 hours and then recoat. Recoat only when previous have dried clear and feel hard. Several light coats give a better finish than one heavy coat. If any coat has dried more than 6 hours, lightly sand with 220-grit sandpaper before recoating.4. Repeat steps 1 through 3. Three coats are recommended. Allow to dry 24 hours prior to light use. Allow to cure 7 days before subjecting the surface to normal usage.
