Works well but has a few flaws
I purchased this because I work on pocket and wrist watches. And, as I have aged, my vision for looking at items up close has continued to worsen. This had good ratings and was not by some fly-by-night alphabet soup company. What I liked was that you can easily switch between three magnification levels easily and without having to swap lenses. That is truly the best thing about this headset. I also like that it has a light that can be moved to different positions. The magnification and clarity are very good. I have been able to easily work on small, delicate parts without having to monkey with standalone magnifiers. This headset magnifier does work better than other brands or models I have used. However, there are four reasons I did not give this five stars. While I would still recommend this, here are three things to be aware of. 1) It does not come with any kind of case for storage or carrying. Since you would not want the acrylic magnifying lenses to be scratched, this should be important. I have a smaller nylon drawstring bag that I use for this, but it should really come with one. 2) I don't have a very big nose at all, and certainly not long. But every time I flip down the secondary lens from within the hood, my nose is in the way. The inside lens should have been designed with a center notch so that this doesn't happen. 3) While there are knob screws on the side to adjust where the magnifying portion is held in relation to the head band, I find they don't work well and the heavier magnifying portion will start to move downwards and out of place. This is annoying and a nuisance to keep adjusting. I am going to put this issue down to either quality control or cheap components (knobs, washers, etc.) 4) The last thing, which I think is kind of unavoidable with this kind of magnifier, is that the plastic part that goes around your head, while adjustable, is not comfortable. I start to get pain in my scalp/head in the back when I've been wearing it for a while. Combine this with the drooping magnifying portion, and I can get irritable quickly.
