great for teaching

I provide online music instruction.I occasionally needed to reposition the mic stand, and I used to caution the students about clunks and bumps.It's no longer a big concern if I forget to mute my output because they now claim they can't hear it when I move the stand.

Does not work for Sterling Audio ST55

As a service to ST55 owners, I'm writing this.There are a few reviews that claim this setup is compatible with the aforementioned microphone, and they are mostly accurate.The thread is the right size, but the threaded piece's exterior diameter is larger than the mic's inner diameter.It grabs two threads or so before bottoming out (see pics), leaving a very shaky microphone in its wake.Not optimal.Having saying that, this is a well-made device.So, if your microphone can handle it, fire away with assurance.

Really stable mount

I appreciate that the microphone is stable and won't slip over or fall.The mic keeps falling off of my previous "bands only" setup at the worst conceivable times.There is no vibration noise or possibility of slipping with this one.
