A robust cam with three-point stem contact, under constant equal tension will hold heavy loads securely and resist loosening from vibration. Locking is accomplished with a No. 8 allen wrench and the spiral provides a steady closing action, instead of a one-point wedge. The eccentric action draws the boards together tightly and firmly even under unusual stress.
