Woman's Beauty, Succcess, Value & Worth

This dynamic duo has partnered together to share their heart and radically better vision for girls of today, in the age of a national gender identity crisis. Through the fourteen chapters, Bethany and Kristen interlace their testimonies along with a few other women in varying stages of life, refuting myths about a woman's role in society, our purpose as a woman and ideas of how to leave a lasting legacy that doesn't fade with time. The one common thread they share is at the core, they bought into some of the lies that society has convinced us to believe in the source of our value, what makes a woman beautiful & how we should measure success. This book takes you through these chapters Part 1: FEMININITY GONE WRONG 1. Bullied by the Big Bad Checklist 2. Blonde Bombshells Don't Have What it Takes 3. Counterfeit Femininity, You've Done Me Wrong PART 2: GETTING BACK TO GOD'S DESIGN 4. Good-Bye Modeling, Hello New Direction 5. Gender, You Are Oh So Magnificent 6. Modern Chic, Meet Biblical Womanhood 7. Okay, Girls, Show Us How It's Done PART 3: WHEN IT COMES TO BEAUTY, TRUE LOVE, and HARD WORK 8. Beauty That Doesn't Need A Runway 9. When True Love and Femininity Collide 10. Hardworking Women Doin' It Right PART 4: CHOOSING TO BECOME A GIRL DEFINED BY GOD 11. Brave Enough to Change Your Look 12. Turning Heads in a New Direction PART 5: FEMINITY WORTH FIGHTING FOR 13. Imagine the Possibilities 14. Let's Get the Sisterhood Started! I have followed the GirlDefined blog and website for sometime now. I read it for light entertainment and a spiritual boost. I am older and have a family of younger children of my own. I thought I was in a different season of life and was not sure I would gain much for myself, rather I thought I was reading it primarily to share with teens and young adults in my life. WAS I WRONG!?!?! The authors spoke right to my heart, to places I thought were buried away and to baggage I thought I had put by the curb; body image, s-x appeal, career vs SAHM, loss of a child, fear, expectations, success and failures. The Study Guide at the end of each chapter helps to reflect and remember some of the key ideas and theme discussed. The Bible verses tie the book to the solid foundation set up for women by the Creator. We are valuable and precious. "When forever comes, only the things you did for Christ will truly matter."

Awesome, Challenging Read!

"God's Radical Design for Beauty, Femininity, and Identity." I'm thankful for these two sisters to write passionately about God's purpose for us as women in this generation of feminism, and gender confusion. Very timely. I love how this book has spoken out everything I've been striving to live for myself these past few years, yet still challenges me to go beyond what I am right now and become a strong woman spiritually. They explore subjects, such as, "Femininity Gone Wrong", "Getting Back to God's Design", "Femininity Worth Fighting For", and more. They've read and studied some of my own heroes of the faith (Elisabeth Elliot, Nancy Demoss Wolgemuth). This book will definitely challenge you to look deeper into God's Word about our purpose instead of falling for the deceits and lies of what the world tries to describe as our purpose. It even includes a Study Guide after each chapter making it easier for you to study out the topic for yourself. I'd recommend this book for anyone in any stage of life (single, married, widowed, etc). Grab a copy for yourself, your best friend, your daughter, and realize your true beauty together. "When one woman is wiling to obey God, the results can be earth-shattering. Generations can be changed forever. Lives can be impacted for all of eternity." - Girl Defined

This book will challenge you in wonderful ways!

This book was incredible! There were days I would read three chapters at a time, because I just couldn't put it down. My heart and mind were being challenged in ways I have not been challenged in a long time. The way the book is written was like you were just over to the authors' house having a sleep over with your best friends. They were so real and so transparent that you couldn't help but admire them and listen to everything they were saying and take it to heart. Now I'm going to be brutally honest...I have read a dozen books about biblical womanhood, so honestly didn't think I'd learn a lot. The minute I got to the second chapter, I was jotting down notes and underlining things like I have never done. I was being convicted of not truly appreciating my womanhood. I was being challenged to make a change in myself and do a study with some of my closest friends...and then a small group with my church. I was brought to tears with some of the truths that were written out in the book, because for so long, I thought I was the only one who felt a certain way. I was asking God for forgiveness for not truly understanding why he created woman and not putting my value in Him. This book needs to be in the hands of every teen girl (16 years and up), young single women, and married women. Every woman will walk away from this book feeling more confident in herself, more challenged to stand up for womanhood, and ready to be used by God. It has changed my perspective on who I am as a woman and what I want to become, and will read this book again and again, until I can be a Kristen and Bethany to other girls.
